It's not an overstatement to say this is one of the best cocktail bars I've been in the world (if not the best). There is no menu, everything is the product of a fruitful conversation with the bartender. The result are cocktails tailored to perfection. Made a pitstop here while on a cocktail bar crawl. We had just one round of drinks and enjoyed it. Cannot remember what the flavour profiles were, just that they were light and refreshing. What is most memorable though, is the theme…a sort of recreation of an old British or colonial era American tavern! Quite the novelty!

Tucked away above Nutmeg & Clove at 8 Purvis Street, Last Word is a laid back Japanese style cocktail bar that’s all about chill vibes and top notch drinks. The place has a clean minimalist look with soft jazz playing in the background, perfect for winding down after a long day. Their signature cocktail, The Last Word, is a throwback to the Prohibition era, mixing gin, green Chartreuse, maraschino and lime into something seriously smooth.

They’ve also got some creative drinks on the menu like the seaweed infused Wakame, a bold twist on the Bloody Mary, and a range of perfectly balanced highballs and sours. Most cocktails are around S$25 to S$27, but their happy hour deals drop some of them to just S$11. You can also snack on tasty Japanese bites like oden, grilled rice balls and juicy wagyu.
